Firstly, before I continue, please understand that everything I say today is just my opinion and has in no way been influenced by anyone else…lest some readers get their backs up!

These are purely the night time ramblings of a somewhat irritated truth seeker.

Do I believe in magic…..most definitely!

But I don’t believe in ritual magic.

Ritual magic for me is a crutch, as it expresses doubt in the fact that one can conjure by pure belief alone.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not labeling or pointing the finger …I don’t care if it’s a crucifix and wine or candles and herbs. Any prop used in order for a person to bring forth what they desire/require in their life is a sign of disbelief in the ability to manifest it. The universe (or whatever energy name you want to use) is at our (disposal) finger tips directly and putting any obstacle in the way of achieving our desires is self sabotage.

At the moment I have developed a strong dislike for current (not matriarchal/duel) systems.

The current systems which try to control our lives are patriarchal by nature and bound for one-sided destruction. A system should be in place to free or assist the user and not hinder or enslave them. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a software system, a form of government or a religious/spiritual institution, the moment the few try to use the many in order to gain status or power, that system is defunct. The moment a system ceases to enhance it should be eliminated.

The true path of learning is the self and one may be accompanied along the way, when uniting with the like-minded, if a flat structured, authority free democracy, can be reached.

I now need to sleep but would like to hear your opinions.

I love the forest and nature and feel it is the way back to finding our true selves and what we have lost as a species. We are, after all, animals!

Beltane Is Coming!

In fact it’s just around the corner and I have started making plans for this years celebration.

Being Celtic, I feel a special bond to this time of the year and in my home town Limerick, Ireland we still celebrate the ancient custom by burning bonfires and drinking merrily. These were also very ritual by nature. Fire symbolizes purification and rebirth.

Beltane celebrates the coming of Summer among other things but rings in a time of plenty although also a time of work in the past in order to prepare for harvest time and the coming winter.

This festival should be celebrated with merry cheer and bright colors. Eggs symbolize rebirth and primary colors the rays of sunshine. Some believe that ritual sex was also combined with the fire. It would seem illogical because conception would habitually occur at harvest time for many reasons.

So deck the halls and terraces with bright ribbons and prepare to burn the fires bright as we ring in this joyous time.

Alternative practice of medicine thinks that natural wellness is an upshot of a diversity of various origins merging. Hence it selects the most beneficial from different alternatives available, in order to furnish healthiness. It does so by establishing the strengths, precluding the frail ones, and in general prescribing a life-style that’s by nature healthy. Alternate medicine branches that encourage natural healthiness include herbalism, natural hygienics, naturotherapy, and nutripathy. Today it’s gotten common to offer these, as complementary therapies to established systems of handling. Phrases like alternative medicine and natural health always seem to get affiliated with the Far East. It should be mentioned that the majority of the core ideas behind natural health are of European rootage.

In the days gone by the only healthcare that was available to the common person was self care. Although medical science functioned in a extremely fundamental state, it was not by a long sight as prolific as it is today. The majority of the “physicians” in that epoch were alluded to as “folk healers” (folks who heal other folks) and their medical exam certification was nothing more than a scant apprenticeship beneath some kind of master.

At the time of the Revolutionary War, learning the art of medicative healing was regarded as as a diversion, something to play with when you had time to kill. It was meant to be something that a person did when not doing a standard job. Folk cures were handed down from one generation to the following. Men and women who had been taught these cures merely implemented them into everyday life like their predecessors. In this way, affairs like childbearing, wounds, and sickness were attended to.

Geographic distance and biologic variety of course made these common cures different in different locations. Thus, although the origins of such curing can be retraced to Europe, once they had been adjusted to the Americas, they weren’t so easily recognizable.

In 1830, Frances Wright and other reformists and protestors began the Popular Health Movement. This was a time period when improvements in medical scientific discipline were driving contemporary physicians to think in terms that would have been blasphemous to their seniors. Discomfited by these new maturations, advocates of the Popular Health Movement sought to implement the use of older techniques into the practice of the new medical professionals. Although a little benefit has ensued (in the long-term and with the assistance of comprehending furnished by modern research), it has to be acknowledged that the Popular Health Movement also made some medical boobs.

A few natural health ideas that sprang up as an outcome of the Popular Health Movement are: Hydrotherapy, Herbalism, Eclectic Medicine, and Natural Hygiene.

Thomsonianism is one of the earlier takes on New western herbalism and it was instituted by Samuel Thompson in more or less the year 1820.

The Association of Eclectic Physicians, an organization of herbals physicians, was established in Wooster Beech.

During its hayday, eclecticism was used by over twenty thousand certified physicians in the United States. By 1939, schools of medicine were being for the most part influenced by philanthropists, and when these schools neglected to support eclecticism, it slowly died off.

Hydrotherapy was another fork of natural wellness and it interested itself with the practical application of water to the human body. Although using exclusively water as means of remaining healthy may sound a little naive, for that era it was a beneficial affair. Hydrotherapy followers were very outspoken about the great need for personal habits like diet, apparel, clean water, fresh air, physical exercise, sunlight, and herbaceous plants. Personal hygiene as it is conformed to nowadays was not always such a crucial issue. Hydrotherapy was transmitting an extremely significant message. The roots of hydrotherapy can be retraced back to Europe in the Roman era when spas and hot mineral springs were a typical way for folks to clean their bodies.

The European method of hydrotherapy was initial one introduced to the United States in 1844 by the founding father of Natural Hygiene, Dr. Joel Shew. Dr. Shew afterwards further developed hydrotherapy by centering on its other facets like fresh air, lots of sunshine, a good diet plan, and an exercise regieme. In 1853 he founded the college of Hygieo Therapy.

The American Natural Hygiene Society was established in 1948. In the end, hydrotherapy had to make way to allopathy. This was mostly created by the fact that the people encouraging allopathy regarded hydrotherapy as a scientific discipline of quacks because hydrotherapy was so intimately affiliated with the female social protestors of that epoch.

The central idea of natural health therapy is that all topics related to wellness, illness, and curing could be prevented through uncomplicated techinques like preparation and an alteration of ones way of living. Natural health abides by the most honest-to-goodness decree of medicine: prevention is better than cure. In sight of this, natural health therapies are meant to be entirely in control of the person and not the physician or healer.

The “natural” in the phrase natural health virtually alludes to the physical world in which we live, or nature. This is just another way of saying that according to natural health therapy each disease and illness is nothing more than a natural response to another natural process. It’s crucial to remember that natural health doesn’t have anything to do with religion or psychic healing which are supernatural ideas and therefore, by definition, not part of nature. This difference is also the greatest differentiating component between natural health therapies of European rootage and Eastern alternative medicinal hypotheses that frequently depend on belief systems like spirituality, karma, ancestral forces, personal auras, or energy flows. None of these can be comprehended by our conventional sensory faculties and therefore the Europe-born natural health theories don’t subscribe to them.

Departing even farther, natural health doesn’t interest itself with the origin of life, any religious faiths, extra-dimensional worlds, magic, and new age religious mysticism.

All natural health alleges is that all wellness and illness can be influenced by basic natural therapies.
At its most primary degree it can be said that natural health therapy alludes to only one point: biologic factors of health, particularly as they apply to day-to-day life in western culture. In its former history, the natural health movement did express considerable interest in hydrotherapy and the relaxation method it provided through the usage of spas, steam baths, and other water remedies. The more modern additions to natural health that pertain themselves with the body-mind connection and how that connects to tension and stress are affected by eastern alternative medical hypotheses.

Having said that, what natural health therapy in conclusion entails is that the human body has total capability to heal itself from most forms of illness (naturally, a shattered bone can’t be repaired by changing your life-style, it must be put in a cast), generally by prevention. So as far as natural health thinking goes, all healing is essentially self-healing and this is believed to be a basic attribute of all things living.

Vitalism

It is to be mentioned that as early 400 B.C., Hippocrates (who’s conceived to be the father of the practice of medicine) had scribed that, “the natural healing energy inside us is the greatest energy for recovery”.

This is called vitalism, a.k.a. ‘vis medicatrix naturae’ (the built-in wiseness of the body).
To put it plainly, if there’s something amiss with the body the physician will try something, for instance: utilising antibiotics to kill the contagion, do surgery to take out a poisoned part or for amputation, put a shattered bone into a cast, stitch a flesh wound. All of these are part of the curing business. The disadvantage is that the body of a patient has to actively react to all this handling otherwise it’s a waste of time. Vitalism makes the body want to heal and get better. This is a well recorded truth that people who work on their physical troubles with confidence and cheerfully mend quicker than other people. The exact reason as to why this occurs isn’t understood but the reality is still undeniable.

Holism

One theory descends from the concept of Holism which states that the technique of healing is a melded effort by the whole organism and can’t be accomplished by any detached part of that organism.
The Holism conception can be retraced to the age of Paracelsus, 1439-1541, who is accredited with being the father of modernistic medicine. When Paracelsus handled patients he refused to take notice of only that section which was exhibiting symptoms of disease. Rather, he sought to handle the entire body as one complete entity.

Holism isn’t a symptom=cure kind of curing formula. It demands a heedful study of the defensive powers of each unique patient’s body. Practicians have to have the learning to distinguish between disease symptoms and the defensive or recuperation systems.

What Holism thinks is that once somebody gets ill, their entire body has gone through some sort of weakness and has lost the equilibrium of its energy. So the answer is to merely give back the energy of the body.

All west worldly natural health therapies depend on biologic elements and the more beneficial psychosocial methods are a New addition.

Individualism

This principle is different in the sense that it bases all obligation for illness and healthiness on each person in a culture. So everybody is responsible for their personal wellness.

Individualism comes from a consciousness of the importance of persons in a society and the consequent merits of self-sufficiency and personal independency. Well-rounded persons are both autonomous and independent.

Victim-blaming

What this entails is that if somebody becomes ill then the victim of the illness did something awry. Although it may sound a bit strange what it really entails is that personal health is a personal obligation and no one can accuse somebody or something else for his or her sickness. It centers on the self. Better yourself for the environment about you is too large to alter for one person. Put differently, unhealthinesses must be self corrected and the conspicuous answer is an alteration in the individuals life-style.

Prevention

This is likely the hardest principle for the contemporary person to comprehend. Although everybody is knowledgeable of the term ‘prevention is better than cure’ there are few folks who in reality go the extent of preventing even the most conspicuous problem (consider smoking, alcohol, high cholesterol foods, sugar, and so forth). Prevention doesn’t simply indicate that troublesome actions must be averted. What is says is that improving health is better than combatting disease. It proposes the practical application of this to short-run and likewise long term damaging forces. In the short term, a healthy body can readily deflect lesser maladies (like common cold) and wounds (razor cuts, skin peeling during sports activities for example). In the long-run prevention indicates carefulness in all that is done now so that it doesn’t result in harmful consequences in the time to come. Put differently, it also advises a modification in life-style for a healthier tomorrow.

Moderate healthiness can be attained by everybody. What is yet better that the techinques to do so don’t have to learned from anybody, the capability to do so dwells within ourselves.

In a statement by American Medical Association Journal, more than 100,000 Americans pass away in infirmaries annually because of side effects of regularly prescribed medicines. All over America, a vast amount of medicine is prescribed on a day-to-day basis. The medical profession openly admits that truth that it doesn’t have any remedy for numerous vernacular diseases that strike people.

Virtually all allopathic medicines have side effects that can array from meek to wicked. The ground for this is that most of these chemicals have particular toxic attributes. This is why there have been so many prescription drugs that got taken from the marketplace after relishing numerous years of FDA commendation.

The deplorable thing is that very few physicians today trouble to inform patients about conceivable side effects because of close and cozy kinships with the pharmaceutic manufacturers. One-half of the truth is that pharmaceutical companies will only lettell doctors know as much as they need to and not impart the whole picture. Consequently, the physicians are not entirely at fault because they can’t warn patients as to the side effects of chemicals they’re not knowledgeable of.

The disturbing thing is that the line of work is so fruitful is that these medication producers are more concerned with earnings and FDA commendation rather than the total consequence on the patients.
This is one ground why numerous physicians are now starting to advocate complementary alternative handlings, like herbal therapies and medications.

Here are a few concerning truths:

· The overall sum of yearly earnings made by pharmaceutical companies by the sale of pharma products in the United States exclusively is more than $100 billion
· Over 25% of all prescription drugs available incorporate plant extracts
· Over 80,000 kinds of plants are used all over the globe for medicative uses
· More than 75% of the planetary population depends upon herbal cures for regular handling

There are numerous options available for people who are looking for alternative cures, including Acupuncture, Yoga, Qigong, Tai chi, Ayurveda, hydrotherapy, massage therapy, homeopathy, energy medicines, holistic approaches, and aromatherapy. As a matter of fact, the amount of herbal cures available for various ailments rivals (if not exceeds) the amount of standard drug treatments rendered by pharmaceutical companies.
The point is that prevention always was and always will be more beneficial than any remedy, mainstream or alternate. The advantage of herbal cures is that they move an person toward a life-style more pitched toward prevention and remedy in the early phases of any affliction.
Pharmaceutic drugs work only after the trouble has developed, they don’t attempt to prevent problems because then the manufacturing companies would move into red ink.

This is where herbal cures leave the mainstream pharma products behind. This is also the ground why so many folks are every day turning to botanical medicine*.
Herbal cures address the cause of the disease and not the symptoms (like established pharma products). Herbal cures also have virtually no side effects.
